Hey guys! So there are a few things to update you all about!
Website Redesign: wow that took a long time
Yep, as you can see, the website got a makeover. I created previous site in a week right before Illuxcon 2019, spending like 8 hours per day banging my head against a wall figuring out how to best design the site. I eventually settled on a look, and RAPIDLY hammered out a metric ton of pages, posts, stories, art, buttons, banners, designs, and more in order to get the site looking full, sleek, and professional.
While the previous design did the job for the time, I really wanted to move towards something simpler and more easily accessible to navigate around and read through. The site had become a bit of a labyrinth of links between this page and that, explaining story, characters, and settings that really had no cohesive connection if you didn’t know what was going on. I had it more wiki-styled, and it really wasn’t to my benefit in that particular scenario. I may move towards something like that in the future, but only after I have WAY more story available to read and when the style is more appropriate.
The story world is old and developed in my head and in my notes, but it’s not like that to someone on the outside looking inward, so I have to be mindful of that. I think this site is much more intuitive, cleaner, and less cluttered, plus I just really like the look that I went for and the aesthetic of the posts, pages, and stories.
I worked so hard to get it looking good and now it finally works for mobile! I hope you all really enjoy it as well D;
Peril Melodia: Aerishgil: progress update
Starting September 1st I’ll be resuming work on Chapters 2 and 3 of Aerishgil full time. I’ve created a new schedule which has me finishing 18 illustrations for the second chapter, as well as completing all of the writing for the third chapter by the end of the month. I’ll be illustrating on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays and Saturday will be Admin days where I write, post, update the website, my Patreon, and other social medias, as well as continuing work on other projects that need to get finished. I’ll take the day off completely on Sundays and will only do work stuff if I actually want to, though I’ll likely be spending it grinding out Destiny 2 Triumphs and preparing for all the raids I need to do before the season ends in November -_-
I work really well when I have deadlines, so I think that I’ll be able to manage this schedule, and hey, if I don’t, then I’ll adjust it as necessary until I can manage it continually. But if I can actually keep it up long-term then the expected production timeline for the book will be sped up way faster than originally planned. I initially planned at the start of the book’s creation that I would have one chapter finished every quarter, with the first book being completed in about a year and a half. However, completing a chapter per month would mean that the whole thing could be done in 6-8 months. Wowie, that would be great.
That’s about it from me for today, I hope you’re all well, you accomplish your current goals, and remember to be nice to people even if they aren’t nice to you.
